Addie's Drive-Thru Empire is a game made by Addie Bowley, LLC ("we"). This policy explains what the game collects, why, and how to have it deleted. It covers the iOS and Android apps and this website.
The short version: we don't ask for your name, email, age or location, and we don't sell your information for money. The game plays fully offline; when it's online, it sends game progress so the leaderboards, crews and cloud saves work.
What the game collects
- A random game ID. The first time the game runs, it makes a random ID for your device. It isn't linked to your name, phone number or Apple or Google account. The game also keeps your game ID and leaderboard name in your phone's secure storage (the iPhone Keychain), so reinstalling on the same iPhone brings your progress back. That copy in the Keychain stays on that phone and isn't synced through iCloud.
- Your Game Center ID and nickname, if you're signed in to Game Center on an iPhone. They let your progress follow you to a new device, and your nickname may appear on the leaderboards. Otherwise the game gives you a made-up name, like "Crispy Nugget 42".
- Game progress. A backup copy of your saved game; your stats, such as earnings, stars, customers served and minigame best scores; your character's look; and your device type (phone or tablet) and the game's version. These power the leaderboards and let you move your game to another device.
- Crews. If you create or join a crew, its name, motto, badge and members are shared with other players.
- Your phone's notification address (a push token), if you allow notifications. The game sends it to our server so we can send you game news, which Apple or Google delivers; turning off Notifications in the game's Settings stops them.
- Gameplay events, such as "finished a minigame" or "opened a restaurant", with the time and your game ID. We use them to find bugs and balance the game.
Our server runs on Cloudflare, which handles your device's IP address to deliver each connection. We don't store it.
Ads
The game shows optional reward ads ("watch an ad for a bonus") through Google AdMob. The ads are for players 13 and older and rated up to Teen. Google uses your phone's advertising identifier (the IDFA on iPhone, the advertising ID on Android), device information and IP address to deliver ads, count them and prevent fraud, and to personalize ads based on how you use apps and websites unless you opt out (or, where the law requires it, only if you agree).
Whether ads are personalized is your choice:
- On iPhone, the game asks before the first ad whether ads can track you. If you choose "Ask App Not to Track", the ads don't use your advertising identifier.
- Where the law requires your consent (such as in the European Economic Area and the UK), Google asks for it before the first ad.
- You can change your choice at any time: in the game, under Settings → Data → Privacy choices, where it applies (such as in the EEA, the UK and some US states); on iPhone, under Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking; on Android, in the phone's ads settings, where you can reset or delete your advertising ID.
See How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
Purchases
Gem packs are paid for through Apple or Google, so we never see your card or payment details. We keep a record of each purchase (which pack, and when) with your game ID, to deliver your gems and to prevent fraud.
What we don't do
- We don't sell or rent your information for money. Some US state laws count personalized ads as "selling" or "sharing" personal information; you can opt out under Settings → Data → Privacy choices, or limit ad tracking on your phone (see Ads).
- We don't track you across other companies' apps or websites ourselves. What Google's ads use is under Ads.
- We don't use your camera, microphone, photos, contacts or location.
- There's no chat between players.
Children
The game is for players 13 and older. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13: the game never asks for a name, email, age or location. A parent or guardian can ask us to delete a child's information at any time.
Keeping and deleting your information
We keep game information while the game is active and use it only to run the game. To have yours deleted, email support@addiesdrivethru.com with your leaderboard name (Settings shows it). We'll delete your profile, cloud save, scores, crew membership, notification address and purchase records within 30 days. Deleting the app removes what the game stores on your device, except the copy of your game ID and leaderboard name in the iPhone Keychain, which stays so a reinstall restores your progress. After we delete your information, that ID is never used again.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and its date.
